Simplifying rental applications for tenants and property managers to help people find homes quicker.
In 2021 I was the designer on the tenant experience team at realestate.com.au. With our previous platform, 1form, slowly moving closer to being retired, we were ramping up our replacement product on realestate.com.au.
Renter Profile
To make applying for rentals quicker and easier, I designed a destination for consumers to get their application ready before they had necessarily found the property they wanted to apply for. This allowed them to apply as soon as they found the perfect rental. Over 1 million profiles were created in the first 7 months post-launch.
I also led the design of additional features within the application, such as the ability to add a second identity document to help consumers prove their identity, negating the need to send sensitive PII that property managers required via email, in order to secure a rental.
Tenant Check
As we were preparing to retire 1form, we had the opportunity to rethink how we sold NTD reports (a product we offered to consumers on behalf of Equifax) for the implementation on realestate.com.au.
I led the discovery and designed the new flow, collaborating with the content design and marketing teams on the final copy. We exceeded our goal to match the 1form conversion rate by 233%.
Application UI Uplift
In mid-2021 realestate.com.au went under a large visual uplift that would see the site slowly roll out font, colour, and component updates. As a part of a larger initiative, I designed an updated application UI to align to our new visual styling, better accomodate the growing product, address some minor pain points, and allow more flexibility for future iterations.
